The partnership with Sarpi Veolia began in May 2008, when finance director Guy Roefs noticed that growing sales were not matched by equal growth in cash flow. Sita Remediation - later Suez Sita Remediation and then Sarpi Veolia - operates in the waste sector and specialises in remediating contaminated soils. The company engages in cash pooling with its affiliates: borrowing from that pool is possible, and they took full advantage of that option.
eXago came into the picture, and within eight months, the DSO dropped from 90 to 59 days. An impressive result, considering that intercompany payments are typically settled with significant delays. The fact that our collaboration was even discussed at the Board of Directors level is, to us, a strong recognition of our efficient approach. Seventeen years and several financial managers later, the partnership still stands—because a stable cash flow is simply indispensable.
Don’t immediately start to panic. First, calculate it. In one minute, our calculator shows you how much money is really tied up in outstanding invoices. Simple, quick and, in some cases, painfully honest. But it is the first step towards getting a better grip on your cash flow.
